Letters to a Substitue Teacher #1

(A letter written to my husband after his several-month tenure as a math substitute last year. Names removed for privacy)

Dear Mr. P,

All I have to say is that I’m glad you were our substitute teacher in math for four months. Many students dislike your teaching style or even just who you are but I have come to find that sometimes a younger teacher can be just as fun or even more enjoyable than older and more experienced instructors. You taught our math class in a motivating manner that helped me survive Calculus. Thank you for giving us a few months of…awesomeness and time to enjoy ourselves while still learning the difficult subject of math. Hope to see you around school next year.

Sincerely your former student,

P.S. – You should highly consider applying as a Calculus teacher for next year.
