I recently read a post about the power of cluster on a lovely blog called GraceLaced. If you’re into cooking, crafting, and tips on keeping a tidy, beautiful home, you should check it out.

Anyway, today I decided to utilize the power of cluster in our apartment. After church we got lunch with my brothers, sister-in-law and new baby niece, and after that I headed over to Michael’s to buy some cheap, glass vases. It turns out they were having a sale, and glass vases were two for $5! What luck!

On my way home, I stopped at Smith’s to buy a cheap bouquet for my cluster. I had originally envisioned carnations, but the white daisy pompons I found instead seemed perfect: fresh, light and summery.

Back at the apartment, I stripped the flowers of leaves and any wilty-looking blooms, and then cut the stems down to about half their length, so that the daisies would sit just taller than the vase.

The result:

I think the final effect is quite impressive. And the flowers match my tree painting nicely.
